About Us

Sailing can be a leisurely way to spend the weekend relaxing in the sun and listening to waves as the breeze gently pushes your boat along the bay. That is not what we do!

Competitive sailing is an entirely different experience. Most competitive sailors are fanatical and highly
competitive. As the starting timer counts down the boats jockey for position. Boats get close and crews get loud screaming "Starboard" and "head up" working to get a strong position off the line. Its a chess match on the water with wind, current and competing boats factoring in on  your moves. Sailing is hard and competitive sailing is harder.

Fat Bottom Girl USA 30812 is a '81 Pearson Flyer that I picked up in 2005 and much of her adventure is posted on this blog. I took a break from blogging in 2016 but we're back at it now as we level-up our program.

We have a "good vibes" culture. We sail hard and party harder. We are always present  at the regatta party.

We are open to all types providing a bias free safe space for people of different backgrounds to join together and participate in competitive sailing.

We train both on the water and off. The crew participates in maintenance projects, learns all positions on the boat and gets in the water to keep our bottom clean. Let us know if you would like to sail with us.
