HYC Plantation Light Race on "Big Scary"

Needing some motivation, I accepted the invitation to sail once again on "Pterodactyl" aka "Big Scary". It was a great night for sailing and the big boat loved the 12-15kt breeze that stuck around for most of the night. At the evening start, the smoke clouds from the Dismal Swamp fires made for a surreal sunset. And as the moon rose on the first leg it came up fiery orange. It was a great night to sit on the rail and take in the wind and the water. The clear sky and dark water gave us a great view of meteor showers and fireworks. We completed the course just after 1:00AM. Thanks for the lift!
