Pulled apart rotted bulkhead

97 days to CCV Warm up and a wonderful weekend for boat work. Today I pulled apart the aluminum brace that covers the bottom of the forward bulkhead. The brace is to stiffen the fwd bulkhead and it works well however it traps moisture and may have helped the moisture do it's thing. Rot the bulkhead :(

There is a good article, Rotten that is a little more involved that our fix but the 1st pic of their bulkhead looks about like I left our tonight. I will have more pics up soon or another video update. Also had a great seafood dinner last night at the Crab Shack in Newport News. Nothing gets me in the mood for sailing like a good seafood dinner.

Looking to repair with marine plywood also met a gentleman in West Marine who mentioned soaking regular plywood in epoxy and using it. Has anyone heard of this? I am curious to try it just to see how it works. Hope to have the jig made this week and get some wood to make the fix this weekend.  FBG in 2012!
