David Clarke of Locust, N.J., used two navigators aboard his 40-foot sloop Silver Star in the Annapolis-to-Newport race. Keith Darby of Hampton, Va., guided the boat on the 136-mile leg down the Chesapeake; then Chris Decker, an airline pilot from Rumson, N.J., took over the navigating. Silver Star beat all the other International Offshore Rule (IOR) rated boats on corrected time.
I was thinking about Darbo this weekend as I pulled out more rotted floor and cut out a cardboard pattern for the bulkhead fix. I thought this article I found interesting. FBG in 2012!
