Optimistic bout round the lights

My 12 volt battery charger decided to crap out. After hearing Chris brag on the Optima charger at his SeaBees shop, I decided to get one. Also, Johnson Controls, who make Optima batteries, is a client. I like to reciprocate business when I can. I have two blue tops mounted midships on the port and starboard side near the keel keeping the weight as low and center-line as possible. Battery #1 was purchased in 07 and kinda holds a charge. I picked up #2 a few weeks ago to be the primary starter for the filthy whore. The Optima charger is known for bringing the near dead Optima batteries back to life. It just arrived this evening . I will report on how it works later but I am very optimistic - Intentional pun.

This weekend's hiring conference in Hampton was a productive event. It was great to see old friends again and work with a few new ones who came out looking for talent and were not disappointed. As we follow-up from the conference, I can rest assured that the weekend was productive be it not on boat work, but the ever important funding side. Thanks to all on the BMI team who help fund this project!

I am still about two weeks from masting the boat. While we did manage to get the last coat of primer on and mostly sanded, the weather window has closed for a couple of days. Painting the top coat, Perfection pure white should happen this Thursday / Friday then sand, wax and reinstall hardware this weekend working around Phoebus Days. Our new goals is to make the "Round the Lights" race on October 20th. I'll be at the house and club working on her this week. Come by for a cold one. FBG in 2012!
