Pole Work

The Interlux Perfection paint on the mast came out well, perfect. I used the hot dog roller, thinned it 30% and then tipped it with a brush. I thought a finial wet sand with 400 grit and then some wax would be necessary but the finish has such a shine, the extra work will not be required. It passes the 5ft test with flying colors.

At the dock FBG looks like an aircraft carrier with her broad deck and no mast. And I have heard it all from "where do you put the sails" to "isn't something missing?" While I have some zingers to reply with, the pokes keep me motivated to get the pole up. Better than the "when is your boat going to be in the water" question. As to when the mast will be on, same answer, two weeks.

The Optima battery charger is working great. It has kept the port starter battery up to snuff and the starboard battery seems to be coming back to life.  Both received a charge and then have been on a maintain charge for about a week. Chris is back so I hope to get the diesel to start. She's being a little moody but it seems to be some minor glitch. Going to play with the diesel and start putting the rig back together this weekend with plans of moving it to the boat next week. FBG in 2012!
