2013 Sailing for Victory at Sea!

In the Navy I was taught "the key to victory at sea is fluid flexibility". And the key to flexibility is options. Planning is all good and well but your plan typically changes with the changing conditions. Rolling out the new plan on the fly is only as successful as your team can execute it.

Our competition in the local PHRF B fleet is really good so being successful on the race course will demand we bring:

1. A competent team capable of executing every maneuver.
2. A properly rigged and optimized racing platform.
3. A knowledgeable after-guard to make tactical decisions.

Not yet having all of these elements in place is why I opted to not race in the 2013 Dana Dillon New Years Madness Race. Plus it is too cold & rainy.

Our 2013 racing season will begin April 14th with the CCV Spring Series race 1 & 2. See the 2013 racing schedule here. Getting the boat optimized and team-building are now top priorities. That and having some fun on the water with my family. This weekend's trip to Nassau, Bahamas will certainly get me in the mood. Victory at sea in 2013!
