Octoberfest!

FBG frat-house the morning after
What a great idea. The CCV continuing Wednesday evening racing with Octoberfest. It's like a night out that you just can't let end. And in starting our Octoberfest traditions, we had a few beers.

While O'Connor Punkelweisse was the intended brew of choice, a fail at Harris Teeter (they didn't have it) caused a change of plans. Rather that scour the city, I chose the very available Sam Adams Octoberfest and that turned out just fine. Also in cans (safety call) it's a pretty good brew.

The race started out light and down-wind. We were good off the line and Tim, pulling double duty as mast and bow man, did a great job getting the kite up. We got lucky and picked the correct side of the race course. The breeze filled in as we rounded mark 1 and headed back upwind. We were the 5th boat to finish and corrected to 3rd place out of race #1. Sweet! Congrats to Pterodactyl and Stardancer for their 1st and 2nd Finish.
