Tyler gave me the coolest book for Fathers Day, Sail On by Melissa Deveney. It's the Tao to sailboat racing. Since surrendering to the wind and the water a new calmness has settled in on FBG. Letting go and being the Way of What is So.

Observing is getting really present with the conditions and letting the other distractions go. We get the jib in just fine weather I fuss about it or not. The team knows what they are doing; when they do not, a calm explanation is more efficient than a sharp high-emotion yell.

The Wednesday night practices continue to be fun and rewarding. The boat is fast and getting faster as we get better at dialing her in for the conditions. Always a treat to beat a boat that cost 4 times yours and owes you time.
